Witam wszystkich



Jestem tu nowa. Nazywam się Angelika. Od niedawna zastanawiam się nad podjęciem pracy jako au pair. Nie dostałam się na studia językowe i chciałabym jakoś ten rok sobie zapełnić. Szczerze mówiąc o byciu au pair wiem tyle, ile przeczytałam w Internecie. Jeśli chodzi o język, to myślę że nie będzie to dla mnie problemem bo w Londynie już raz byłam, mieszkałam u angielskiej rodziny i dogadywałam się bez większych problemów. Tylko te załatwienia...I tutaj moja prośba do dziewczyn, które już pracowały, czy mogłybyście mi tak pokrótce napisać jakich dokumentów będę potrzebować i krok po kroku jak to się mniej więcej odbywa? Od czego zacząć? Jakieś wskazówki, porady... Będę bardzo wdzięczna

hej, Jak wiadomo wiele rodzin wymaga aby au pair jeździła samochodem, tzn. odwoziła dzieci do szkoły i na zajęcia, w związku z czym pytanie do jeżdżących au pairek/-ów: Jak się jeździ w USA??

Może mógłby ktoś napisać o tamtejszych drogach i czy względnie łatwiej się jeździ się tam niż w Polsce czy trudniej (??) Zastanawiam się również jak wyglądają tamtejsze parkingi itp.

czytałam kilka postów na forum i coraz bardziej przekonuję się do wyjazdu w ramach programu AU PAIR.

Jak nie teraz to kiedy?, jak nie my to kto? i właściwie dlaczego nie ?!?!?!



Chciałabym bardzo wyjechać, ale z moim chłopakiem, bo rozłąka nam nie służy , a poza tym warto coś zobaczyć razem, zresztą zawsze to bliska osoba na obczyźnie przy boku

czy znacie jakieś organizacje, strony, gdzie jest info o takich wyjazdach, a może to odradzacie? lub macie może znajomych, którzy byli i coś polecają? jeśli tak bardzo proszę o info.

Okej, też będę tutaj pisać co jakiś czas



Mam na imię Kasia, lat 21 jeszcze, nieobroniony licencjat przede mną i na reszcie wszystko ułożyło się tak, bym mogła wziąć gap year i wyjechać na rok. Idealnie wręcz, bo muszę poukładać swoje pomysły dalszego studiowania i odpocząć od codzienności. A i to aupair chodziło za mną już od trzech lat.



Rodzinę znalazłam przez aupair-worl.net. Doświadczenie już miałam, bo 2 lata temu też chciałam wyjechać, ale w ostatnim momencie sprawy rodzinne zmusiły mnie do zostania... Większe wywody i tak będę pewnie pisać na blogu, ale równie dobrze można tutaj się odezwać i np ponarzekać, że rodzina, z którą już na 90% ustaliłam, że do niej jadę nie może się ze mną zdzwonić na skypie ;p Ustalamy rozmowę z dzieciakami już drugi tydzień i nadal albo mnie nie ma, albo oni się nie odzywają... Uhhh... Wszystkie czarne myśli przeleciały już przez głowe: może zrezygnowali ze mnie, może znaleźli kogoś innego, może termin mojego przyjazdu im nie pasuje ;p Ale z krótkich maili stwierdzam, że raczej się zdecydowali tylko są tak zabiegani przed wakacjami, że nie mają czasu mi tego oficjalnie powiedzieć. Więc żyj sobie Kasiu w niepewności ;] a co tam! ;p



Rodzinka jest fajna.. I w sumie pierwsza, z którą rozmawiałam przez telefon/skype i tak już zostało. Mają dwójkę uroczych dzieciaków: 6-letniego Gijsa i 4-letnią Larę. Wg ich obecnej aupair, z którą mailuję i podpytuję o wszysto, dzieci są komunikatywne, bardzo łatwo się z nimi pracuje i nie sprawiają większych problemów Czyli normalne dzieciaki. Mieszkają w Naarden, 20 min od Amsterdamu, 40 min od plaży... Czego chcieć więcej... aa... tego, żeby zadzwonili i w końcu oficjalnie powiedzieli mi: tak! to Ty będziesz naszą au-pair ;D haha... czekam ;]

hej! planuje powrót do Polski autobusem gdyz ceny samolotów strasznie podrożaly i niestety musze jakos dojechać do Victoria Coach Station. Mieszkam w Feltham, wiec chyba najlepiej bedzie wsiasc do metra i dojechac do Victorii. Tylko jak patrze na mape to ten przystanek autobusowy jest daleko od miejsca, w ktorym wysiadem z metra(Victoria), a nie bardzo chce spacerowac po Londynie bo mam duzo bagazy;/ Wie ktoś może jak inaczej moge dojechać? prosze o pomoc bo musze rezerwować jakis bilet a to juz 25ego. Dodam,ze jestem nie ogarnieta z komunikacja miejska;/

DUTIES FOR AU-PAIR (June 2010)



The main duty of the au-pair will be to care for the girls (Bekki and Jess).

During the school terms (Monday to Friday) the au-pair will be required to ensure that they get up in the morning and provided with breakfast (cereal, toast or fruit) before leaving for school. Both girls will be attending the same school from September and this school is only 2 minutes walk from the house. They are required at school by 8:50am and Bekki is permitted to leave for school on her own but Jess must be taken. On occasions I may ask you to take letters to the school office and ensure they are handed to the staff.

Once the girls are both at school you will have free time (some further tasks noted further on) until 3:20pm when Jess will need to be collected from her school. Bekki also finishes school at 3:20pm but can come home on her own. On some occasions they may have an after school club and therefore the will come home later. You will be advised if this is the case. Upon arrival at home the girls should be encouraged to change from school clothes to home clothes and 15-20 minutes should be spent with Jess reading her school book and a note written in her school diary also assist Bekki as required with any homework.

A meal should be provided at around 5:00pm for all the family and should be a healthy meal, (example rice dish, pasta or vegetables) meat dishes should be included, cleaning of dishes after the meal would be helpful.

Whilst the girls are at school I ask that any dishes or cups are washed up and put away as required and also that the house is kept tidy. This may include vacuuming and cleaning surfaces as required. It is not expected that these tasks will take very long if regularly completed. You will also be provided with some shopping money so that you can purchase items such as milk, bread and any items that you may need for the family. The house should always have enough milk for the following day�s breakfast. You will not be expected to pay for family food from your pocket money. All your normal food will paid for by me except any treats that you wish to purchase for yourself.

During the school holidays you will be required to be with the girls during the day whilst I work. You will be requested to play and join in with the girls; you will be able to go to the park or for a walk as you wish so long as the girls are supervised.

Throughout your stay (Monday to Friday) you will be required to be contactable so that in the event of an emergency I can contact you. For this purpose you will be provided with a mobile phone so that you may be contacted by me or the school should an emergency occur. This mobile phone will have �credit� put on it and this will be paid for by me at a rate of not more than Ł10 per month. This will allow you to use the phone for calls/texts within the UK. The phone should not be used for calls to other countries unless you pay for the credit required.

In the evenings I may ask you to �babysit� on up to two evenings per week.

At the present time I am frequently out on a Wednesday evening but this is possible to change.

Usually when I return home from work on Friday you are then free until the Monday morning. You will be free to stay at home and join in with the family but you will not be expected to perform any duties. It is possible that on some occasions I may ask if you are available to look after the girls on a Saturday or Sunday. If you agree to this then you will be given additional pocket money at Ł15 per day. Very occasionally I may ask that you look after the girls all day if I am required to attend a course and stay overnight. This will be agreed in advance in it is not something you have to agree to but would be very helpful.

The only exception to this is on occasions that I perform �on-call� duties for work. My �on-call� duties commence at 8:00am on a Monday and remain in place until 8:00am the following Monday. During this time I ask that you are within 10 minutes of the house when I am at home so that should I be called to work then you will be able to be here with the girls (these arrangements are included within your regular pocket money). I am required to work �on-call� duties 1 in 12 weeks which about 4 times per year. You will be told the dates of my �on-call� duties for the year in advance.

You will be paid the sum of Ł70 per week pocket money. This money will be paid on a Monday and will be for the week ahead. You will be asked to sign a receipt for this so that both of us know that money has been provided. You will be provided with one week per six months with the family of �holiday�, you will be able to choose when you take this holiday; you will receive full pocket money for this. Further to this if the family take a holiday away then you will be paid as follows:

If you remain at the house then you will be receive full pocket money and expected to keep the house clean and tidy.

If you choose to be away from the house then you will receive 50% of normal pocket money.

Sometimes the girls go to stay with their grandparents and I take the chance to go away for a night. This will result in you being at home on your own which you will need to be happy with.

In the event that you wish to end the agreement of being our au-pair then you will be required to give me one month�s notice of your departure so that I can arrange a new au-pair. If I wish you to leave then I will also provide you with one months notice that I wish you to leave.

It is very important that I am able to have confidence that the girls are well cared for and therefore if I have to warn you of failings in performing duties then after three warnings you will be asked to leave (this may or may not include a notice period).

You will be provided with your own room, whilst you are here the room will be your private place. I will not enter your room unless invited. I do ask that the room is kept clean and tidy and when you leave the room should be left in the condition it was given to you.

The house has a wireless internet system and therefore if you have a laptop of other internet device then you are welcome to bring it with you. If not then a computer can be made available for your use to contact friends and family via skype for example.

During your stay you will not perform your duties in a drunken state, you will also not take any illegal drugs at any time whilst living in our house, and you will not undertake any illegal activities. Smoking is not permitted in the house or anywhere in the gardens.

It will be permitted that you invite a guest to the house if you arrange this in advance, no guests will be permitted to stay at the house overnight between Sunday and Friday. A female guest may be permitted to stay on a Friday or Saturday night, male guest will not be permitted to stay overnight at any time. Guests will not be permitted to visit the house whilst we are on holiday unless I have previously met them and agree to the visit.

When you are not performing your duties you will be welcome to join in with the family as you wish. You will be welcome to use all the facilities of the house as you require.

If you have any problems or requests then you will be welcome to ask. I always try to fit in with things that the au-pair may wish to do as I do ask that you are flexible with what I ask you to do.
